Dr Miroslava Vujčić

Principal research fellow at ICTM

She participates in the implementation of work packages 1, 3, and 4 of the project UniCorn.

She graduated, obtained her master's degree, and earned her doctorate at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade. From 1986 to 2004, she was employed at the Laboratory of Molecular Biology at the Institute of Nuclear Sciences - Vinča. Since 2004, she has been working at the Department of Chemistry at the Institute of Chemistry, Technology, and Metallurgy in Belgrade She is the author of over 60 scientific publications, which have received over 600 citations.

Scientific interests

Her primary research focus lies in the interactions of natural products, synthetic derivatives, and complex compounds with nucleic acids and proteins.

Engagement on projects

She has participated in the implementation of several national projects.

Staff education

She has been a mentor and participated in the realization of more than ten undergraduate and master's theses of students at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade. She participated in the completion of several doctoral dissertations, supervising two of them.

Awards

She is the recipient of the Ministry of Science and Environmental Protection award (2004) for scientific results from 2002-2004., as well as two Gold Medals with the image of Nikola Tesla for Invention at the international invention fair.
