Senior Research Associate at ICTM

Senior Research Associate at ICTM and the coordinator of WP3. Participates in the implementation of all work packages of the UniCorn project.

She obtained her degree in chemistry at UBFC, where she also completed her doctoral studies in 2011 at the Department of Biochemistry. In 2010, she attended a two-month training course on renewable energy sources at the Institute of Biogas of the Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China in Chengdu. In 2012, she conducted postdoctoral research in the field of biophysics at the Institute of Medical Physics and Biophysics, Faculty of Medicine, University of Leipzig, Germany, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Daniel Huster.

Scientific interests

Development of new enzyme immobilization techniques (using natural, synthetic, and composite materials) and their application in continuous substrate biotransformations in bioreactors, purification and characterization of enzymes, stabilization of proteins (enzymes) through chemical modifications, biochemical characterization of enzymes, production and purification of enzymes from microorganisms, development and testing of various biosorbents for the removal of textile dyes from wastewater, and development of new HPLC methods and other bioanalytical methods.

Engaging in projects

She was the PI of the PoC 5268 project funded by the Innovation Fund of the Republic of Serbia from 2020 to 2021; and participant in the COST action COZYME CA21162. She participated in several projects funded by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation: 1755 (2005-2006), 142026B (2006-2010), OI 172048 and OI 172055 (2011-2019), the international project CRP - ICGEB (2012-2015), and a bilateral project with the Republic of Austria (2018-2021).

Personnel education

She was a member of the team that won the prestigious national Competition for the Best Technological Innovation of Serbia in 2014. She supervised and participated in the work of several bachelor's, and master's students, one Master and one PhD thesis at UB. She actively participates in the seminars of the Chemistry Petnica Science Center, as well as the national commission for high school chemistry competitions.

Board membership

She is a member of the national commission for the competition of high school students in chemistry, organized by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia and the Serbian Chemical Society.
